All WNRYC youth receive a formal, detailed alcohol and drug abuse assessment, treatment plan, transition services, and aftercare programs which directly involve parents and POs.  The parent(s) is expected to be present and contributing during this process.

Family members are included in all phases of WNRYC programming including a three-hour orientation, initial assessment, and initial treatment plan development on client’s first day in WNRYC.  This team-oriented approach continues through weekly family groups, visitation, formal transition meeting, and structured aftercare services.

WNRYC is based on RESPECT.  This means the staff respect clients as people and the clients are expected to respect them in return.  It also means the clients respect the program by obeying the rules, participating in group meetings, and trying their best to graduate successfully.  WNRYC also gives clients a lot of control.  Staff work with clients to identify their problems that caused them to be sent to WNRYC and they work with clients to change those problems.  It takes hard work from the clients, but clients are supported by families, the probation officer, WNRYC staff and others to help them succeed.
